Wrestling Observer Newsletter Update

- Long-time WWE commentator Jim Ross has signed on as the "Head of Personnel." He will function in a role similar to that of his old WWE job - hiring new talent. He has been told to, specifically, scout the independent scene. That clashes with Ross' old modus operandi, but he's a team player and will no doubt find plenty of talent out there.

- Jimmy Jacobs is going to be brought in, likely to serve as a mouth-piece for DOOMSDAY.

- The first edition of WCW Underground had somewhere in the neighborhood of 200,000 unique views. Internally, they want it to be better. The real story on if this is successful or not will come on 10/30 when the iPPV buyrate comes in.

- The Lou Thesz Memorial Tournament DVD seems to be a big seller. As an extra feature on the show, they have lots of sit-down interviews with various stars involved with the promotion talking about the history of pro-wrestling and what it means to them.

- The next set of tapings will more than likely feature the first round of a tournament to determine the WCW Tag Team champions.
