WCW Underground 2.04

- Previously on WCW: Chris Jericho and Jay Briscoe had a battle, while Chris Masterson and the Old School Wrecking Crew made their debuts.

- Standard opening video package.

- Lenny Leonard kicks off by announcing the huge Fox show that will be live on March 31. JML puts over the idea that they'll be broadcast worldwide to show what wrestling for the 21st century is. Talk segues to Brent Albright having a tough few months.

- A video package recapping Brent Albright's bad run on iPPV.

Match #1: Brent Albright vs. Caleb Konley
JML says that Albright has all of the tools, but is lacking the confidence. Albright just completely dominates Konley, almost in unnecessary fashion. The crowd turns on him, which I believe is the intent. Tons of heel-stuff, where he pounds away and the ref has to pull him back. Albright uses the half-nelson suplex and transitions into the Crowbar for the submission victory.

Result: Brent Albright wins via submission w/ The Crowbar
Time: 4:09

- Promo time~! Albright says that over the last few months he's been on a slump and the only person he blames is "every damn one of you." Albright says the fans were quick to warm to Davey Richards because of he pretends he's an MMA fighter. He asks what the hell has Davey Richards ever done. "I'm a former NWA World Champion! I'm a part of group of people that includes Ric Flair, Lou Thesz, and Ronnie Garvin!" (!) He says the time for being polite is over and from here on out, anyone who gets in his way is going to pay.

- Back from break and Alberto Dos Caras is at ringside. Caras says that everyone in the audience is immensely jealous of him because he's Mexican. Boos, of course. Caras says the time is rapidly approaching for his re-match and he thinks he may just have a time set in mind. Lenny asks when and Caras just winks at him and walks off.

Match #2: Anthony Andrews vs. Windham Rotunda
Pretty much the same match as Rotunda's debut. He uses all of the same spots and works in a couple of new ones. One in particular is flying shoulderblock off the ring apron. He finishes Andrews off with the Death Valley Driver.

Result: Windham Rotunda wins via pin w/ The Death Valley Driver
Time: 3:09

- Fastball Special are out for a promo. London in full London Warrior garb. "In the nexus of the Eternals we ride our steeds of fire and iron. A setback is nothing but another chance for redempticity. (!) Staring down the eyes of the monsters that are DOOMSDAY, we know their weaknesses. Now, all the Genericoans and Londoneers will rise up in frivolous fervor as we stand toe-to-toe with monstrous figures of deconstructicity!" JML is cracking up in the background. RUHROH. Here come's WGTT! Haas says, quote, "I have no idea what the hell you just said but if you think you're getting a title-shot before us then you got another thing coming Short Round!" Referees come up to separate the fracas!

The Event Center:
Jim Ross talks about the fast approaching Bunkhouse Stampede and runs down the already announced participants. He then confirms the recently added Eddie Edwards vs. Drew Gallows match for the United States Championship. Ross then announces five more participants for the Stampede: Jay Briscoe, Mark Briscoe, Joey Ryan, Brian Kendrick, and Austin Aries. This segues into his sit-down interview with Austin Aries. Ross asks Aries why he has such an issue with JML. Aries goes into a rant about how JML is a bully and a piss-poor pro-wrestler that only achieved anything by pretending to be Ted Dibiase. Ross presses the question and says he wants a better answer. Aries bitches about JML taking his job on commentary. Ross wants to know why Aries asked for this interview. Aries says he wanted to make a challenge to JML, but the events of the last week have now made the stakes even greater. He says with WCW appearing worldwide on FOX, he wants to be the first man on TV fighting and he wants that fight to be with JML in singles action. And he doesn't just want any fight. Aries says if he wins, JML must quit WCW. If Aries loses, he'll quit wrestling.

Match #3: Drew Adler vs. Chris Hero
Pretty standard squash here, with Hero hitting two Deathblows to get the win and send a message, I guess.

Result: Chris Hero wins via pin w/ The Deathblow
Time: 2:10

- Hero takes the mic and talks about the Stampede. He says that since day one people have been saying "This guy is better than Hero and that guy is better than Hero." He says he knocked Albright out and Davey couldn't get the job done at Starrcade. He says at the Stampede 24 men will end up knocked out - out of consciousness and out of the ring. Clever wordplay there.

- Chris Jericho out for a promo. He says he's not phased by Dos Caras playing games with the re-match. Instead he's going to focus on defending the belt. That's about it, really.

Match #4: Brodie Lee vs. Sal Rinauro
Big boot to kick things off. Lee more or less mauls Rinauro before finishing home with the Boss Man Slam.

Result: Brodie Lee wins via pin w/ The Boss Man Slam
Time: 4:11

- Brodie's turn on the mic. He says he hasn't been announced officially for the Stampede, but if he's not in it he's going to hurt a lot of people regardless of whether he likes 'em.

- A video recaps the drama with CM Punk/Drew Gallows and Davey Richards/Eddie Edwards.

Main Event: Eddie Edwards/Davey Richards vs. Drew Gallows/CM Punk
Well this should be fun. They start out brawling around the ring and ringside. JML comments on how Davey and Eddie train with Kurt Angle. It finally settles down in the ring with Eddie and Punk going at it. Gallows with the blind-tag and Eddie plays the face-in-peril after a beatdown. Tons of heat-spots here where Eddie comes oh-so-close to the tag, but gets cut off in various fashions. Gallows goes for a powerslam but Eddie twists into a tornado DDT and makes the hot tag to Davey Richards. The match breaks down with everyone brawling again. On the outside, Punk blasts Davey with the ring-bell but the referee doesn't see it. Now DAVEY is the face-in-peril! This goes on for another ten minutes with Davey getting near-tags and blind-tags that the ref doesn't allow. The crowd gets superhot for it! The best spot is when Davey hits the Alarm Clock on Punk and does a Ricky Morton-roll for the tag but Gallows perfectly times pulling Eddie off the turnbuckle! Just a great, great tag moment! They continue to work Davey and he hits the springboard backflip kick and finally makes the hot tag and the crowd comes unglued! Eddie cleans house and Punk ends up outside, perfectly set up for Davey to hit the insane suicide dive. Eddie hits Drew with the Olympic Slam for two. He goes for the Achillies Lock but Gallows kicks him away. Gallows goes for the power bomb but Eddie ranas him outside. Eddie then dives out onto Gallows. Punk and Richards get in the ring and trade strikes. Punk rakes the eye and goes for the G2S, but Davey counters and tosses Punk up for the Alarm Clock. He lifts Davey up for the DR Driver but gets leveled by Gallows with a big boot. Eddie in with a missile dropkick and they all play dead. Eddie goes to put Punk in the Achilles Lock and gets BLITZED with a big boot by Gallows. Powerbomb follows that and Punk holds back Davey while Gallows get the pin.

Result: Drew Gallows/CM Punk win via pin w/ a powerbomb
Time: 24:41

- The show ends with Gallows motioning for the belt.
